What is GeoSeer?

GeoSeer predicts the location of a photo or video using a multi agent AI pipeline that combines EXIF parsing, reverse image search, visual analysis and map cross checks. It works without EXIF data, reports GPS coordinates plus city and country, and ships a developer API alongside a browser based interface.

GeoSeer is a geolocation tool that takes a photo or a short video and works out where it was shot. The input can be an image without any EXIF metadata attached, which is the usual case for pictures pulled from social feeds, marketplaces or messaging apps. Output includes GPS coordinates plus city and country predictions. Uploads are capped at 10 MB per submission, with up to three images or one video, in jpg, png, webp, heic, mp4, mov or webm. The engine is not a single model. GeoSeer runs a parallel multi agent pipeline in which separate agents read EXIF data, run reverse image search, estimate the likely area, analyse visual clues, cross check against satellite imagery and maps, run web searches, and then a ranker agent weighs the evidence into a final prediction. Three operating modes are exposed: Fast, Agent and Event. Fast and Agent suit clear landscapes and readable signage, while Event mode is aimed at incident details and supporting links rather than raw scenery. The realistic users are people doing investigative or verification work: journalists checking where a clip was filmed, OSINT researchers, insurance and claims teams, and buyers trying to confirm a seller's location. The company publishes its own accuracy benchmark, built on a 62 image set adapted from Im2GPS, and reports 94% of top predictions landing within 1 km, ahead of the named competitors in that comparison. Among alternatives, GeoSeer leans on agentic orchestration rather than one geolocation model, and it offers a developer API alongside the web interface. The benchmark is self run and self published, so treating the 94% figure as an independent measurement would be a mistake. Pricing scales by search and API volume, and the top web tier is the only one without a search cap.

How do you use GeoSeer?

  1. 1Open GeoSeer and drop in a file
Go to the homepage and drag an image or video onto the upload area, or click to browse. Keep the total under 10 MB and stay within three images or one video.
  2. 2Pick the mode that matches your image
Fast and Agent work best when the frame shows clear landscapes or readable text. Choose Event mode when the case involves a specific incident and you can supply relevant web links.
  3. 3Read the agent output, not just the pin
The pipeline runs EXIF, reverse image search, area estimation, visual analysis, satellite, map and search agents. Review which agents contributed evidence before trusting the top prediction.
  4. 4Check the benchmark before you rely on it
The benchmarks page sets out the dataset, the within 1 km metric and the modes compared. Read it before quoting an accuracy figure in a report.
  5. 5Move to the API for repeat work
Starter and Pro plans include monthly API calls, with Pro adding white label access. Extra calls beyond the allowance are billed per call.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Works on images with no EXIF data, which covers most photos scraped from social mediaAI
  • Returns GPS coordinates as well as city and country, not just a country level guessAI
  • Separate agents for EXIF, reverse search, satellite and maps give a readable evidence trailAI
  • Published accuracy benchmark with a stated dataset and methodology, even if self runAI
  • Fast, Agent and Event modes let you match effort to the type of imageAI

Cons

  • The 94% accuracy headline comes from GeoSeer's own 62 image test set, so it is not independent verificationAI
  • Free tier allows a single web search per day, which is too thin for real evaluationAI
  • 10 MB per upload and a three image cap limit batch or high resolution forensic workAI
  • Event mode depends on incident details and links, so plain scenery gets less from itAI
  • No mobile app listed on the pricing page, leaving browser access as the main routeAI
