Palaura is an AI matchmaking service for people in the United States who want to meet a partner without swiping, filtering and writing openers. It is not a standalone dating app. Instead, it is used through a personal AI agent that can open websites on the user's behalf, and the agent handles sign-in, profile entry and checking for new recommendations while Palaura does the actual matchmaking. Getting started means asking the agent to use Palaura to find a date. The user verifies a phone number with a six-digit code, adds basic details, describes themselves and the kind of person they want, and uploads at least two photos. Roughly five minutes later, suggested people appear on a personal Palaura page, which refreshes on its own. Declining a suggestion with a reason is meant to sharpen later picks. The site also says the system weighs personal matters such as faith, politics, views on kids and dealbreakers that rarely fit in a public profile. When the user likes someone, their Palaura matchmaker talks with the other person's matchmaker. Only if both sides agree it is a fit does the other person get an email, and the user is emailed when interest is returned. After that, the two can exchange letters to chat, share contact details or plan a meeting. There is no public profile to browse, and the service states that it is for real people rather than bots and is inclusive of LGBTQ+ users. Palaura positions itself between conventional dating apps and human matchmakers. Apps leave the sorting and conversation to the user, while traditional matchmakers tend to be expensive and involve waitlists or interviews.
