What is AppIsUp?

AppIsUp is an app creation tool. A cloud hosting platform where Claude Code runs directly on your own private server. Bring an Anthropic key, pick a provider, and every app you build gets a live public URL with SSL, with no deployment step and no credit system.

AppIsUp is a hosting service built around Claude Code. Instead of running an AI coding agent on a laptop and then figuring out deployment, the agent lives inside a Docker container on a private cloud server that belongs to the user. Anything Claude writes is served immediately from that machine, with no build pipeline in between and no separate release step. The pitch is deliberately narrow: coding happens in the browser terminal, and the output is already online. Setup is deliberately thin. A user registers, supplies their own Anthropic API key, and picks a cloud provider (Vultr, DigitalOcean, AWS or GCP) plus an instance size. From that point the server boots with Node.js, Python, Docker and common developer tooling preinstalled, and Claude Code runs with root access inside its container, so new languages, packages and libraries can be added on request. Every app receives a public URL with an automatic SSL certificate, and custom domains can be attached. Because the agent runs continuously, a change made from a phone lands on the live site the same way a change made from a desk does. The obvious audience is people who already trust an AI agent to write most of their code but do not want to babysit infrastructure. That covers solo builders shipping side projects, small teams prototyping without a DevOps hire, and technically comfortable hobbyists who want a real server rather than a sandboxed builder. Non-developers can use it, though the official FAQ admits that some baseline understanding speeds things up considerably. Phone-based editing is positioned as a genuine workflow rather than an afterthought. Against tools like Replit or Lovable, the differentiators are mostly structural. There is no credit meter: consumption is metered through the user's own Anthropic key, and server capacity is fixed by plan. Git access allows cloning and pushing to GitHub or Bitbucket, though that is labelled beta. The tradeoff is that AppIsUp only ships with Claude Code for now, with other command-line agents promised later, and the user absorbs both the hosting fee and their own API costs.

How do you use AppIsUp?

  1. 1Create an account
Register on the site to get access to the dashboard, then keep the credentials handy for later logins.
  2. 2Add your Anthropic API key
During initial setup you configure your own Claude Code API key. All agent usage is billed through that key rather than through AppIsUp credits.
  3. 3Choose a cloud provider and instance
Pick Vultr, DigitalOcean, AWS or GCP, then select the server size and geographic location that matches the plan you want.
  4. 4Open the cloud terminal
Your private server starts with Claude Code, Node.js, Python and Docker already installed. Describe what you want to build and let the agent work.
  5. 5Visit the live URL
Each app is published automatically with a public address and an SSL certificate. Add a custom domain from settings if you want to use your own name.
