Chatmate AI is a conversational platform built around artificial people rather than a single general purpose assistant. Each Chatmate has a name, an age and a written backstory, and the product presents them as individuals you can get to know over time. You pick a profile from a browsable list or connect at random, then talk through a messenger app you already use: WhatsApp, Telegram, Instagram or Messenger. The chat runs in any language, including regional dialects, and the mate replies in character, drawing on one or more large models behind the scenes. The experience is deliberately social. Mates send photos when asked, react to images you share, and can reach out to you unprompted, so conversations do not always wait for your prompt. An English voice mode lets you speak and hear replies. A separate early access feature, Mateverse, lets a mate invite you into a 3D space that opens in the browser.
