What is Hatchable?

Hatchable is an app creation tool that builds apps with your own AI and get hosting, database and auth included. Hatchable connects ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor and other AI assistants to hosting with a database, sign-in, email and storage included, so apps ship live at a real URL.

Hatchable is a hosting and backend platform that sits behind the AI assistant a person already uses. Instead of offering its own chat-based builder, it connects to ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, Claude Code, Codex or Antigravity through a connector, so the assistant writes the code while Hatchable runs it. A request that ends with "on hatchable" produces a live app at a hatchable.site address, with no build configuration to learn. Every project starts with a private Postgres database, passwordless sign-in through email codes and passkeys, transactional email, and file storage on a CDN. Further built-ins include AI calls to OpenAI, Anthropic or Google using a key added once, a headless Chromium browser, scheduled jobs, and custom domains with automatic HTTPS. The target audience is non-developers and small teams who want a restaurant site, booking page, form, dashboard or internal tool, plus developers who would rather not assemble a database, auth service and mail provider by hand. One distinguishing idea is that the AI connection stays open after launch. The same assistant that built an app can read its data, send email, change the schema or inspect logs later, in plain English. A marketplace of apps made by other creators, such as a form builder, a webmail client and a spreadsheet-style database, lets users copy one into their own account with an isolated database and modify it by prompting. Creators can also publish and sell their own apps. Among alternatives, Hatchable positions itself between AI app builders that charge for tokens and plain deploy hosts that assume technical knowledge. The Personal tier is free, with one app published to the open web, while a flat monthly Builder plan covers custom domains and removes branding. An Enterprise option offers a single-tenant deployment with SSO and audit controls. Quality depends heavily on the connected AI, since Hatchable supplies infrastructure rather than its own model.

How do you use Hatchable?

  1. 1Open the setup page
Choose the AI assistant to connect (ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, Claude Code, Codex or Antigravity) on the connect page and follow its instructions.
  2. 2Approve the connector
Click Connect in the assistant's directory and approve access on hatchable.com. This creates a free account.
  3. 3Describe the app
Ask the assistant for what is needed and end the request with "on hatchable", for example a meal planner for a family.
  4. 4Open the live URL
The app is deployed to a hatchable.site address with database and sign-in already active. Ask the AI for changes at any time.
  5. 5Try a marketplace app
Browse ready-made apps and copy one into an account to use it as is or as a starting point for edits.
  6. 6Review plans and add a domain
Compare the Personal and Builder tiers before publishing more apps or attaching a custom domain.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • No separate AI fees: it works with the assistant the user already pays for, with no per-prompt creditsAI
  • Database, auth, email, storage and cron are wired into every project from the startAI
  • The AI keeps access after launch to read data, change schema and send emailAI
  • Marketplace apps can be copied into an account and then modified by promptingAI
  • Free Personal tier with unlimited projects and one app publishable to the open webAI

Cons

  • Output quality depends on the connected AI, since Hatchable has no builder model of its ownAI
  • Custom domains, public apps without login and unbranded sites require the paid Builder planAI
  • Setup requires configuring a connector or MCP server, which may confuse non-technical usersAI
  • Tied to its own hosting stack, so moving an app elsewhere likely means reworking its backend piecesAI
