Kundaly is a browser-based astrology assistant that computes a birth chart for an exact date, time and place, then answers questions about it in plain language. It covers both Vedic (sidereal) and Western (tropical) systems and labels which one it is using. Positions come from the JPL DE440 ephemeris, and the classical rules are applied to that calculation rather than recited from generic horoscope text. The distinguishing feature is transparency. Each answer lists what it read from the chart, the rule it applied and the text that rule comes from, the school it follows, and what the chart cannot support. A question about changing jobs, for example, cites the running period lord, the strength of the tenth house lord and the tradition behind the reading. An unknown birth time is flagged as provisional, and a rectification tool tries to narrow the time down using events from the user's own life. Beyond chat, the toolkit includes sixteen divisional charts, a daśā timeline, named yogas and doshas, muhūrta timing for weddings, moves and launches, 36-guna matchmaking, a daily reading with the pañcāṅga, and a Western chart with transits and progressions. A Council of Sages option sends one question to several traditions, such as Parāśara, Jaimini, KP and Bhṛgu Nandi Nāḍī, so users can see where the schools agree and where they differ. Monthly forecasts are published by Moon sign and birth star, alongside a reference library of nakṣatras, signs, grahas, houses and yogas. The service suits curious beginners who want a first chart and readers already familiar with Jyotiṣa who want to check the working. Pricing is credit-based, with no subscription, and the site states plainly that it is meant for reflection, not verdicts: it avoids death dates, investment advice and medical claims. Compared with sun-sign horoscope apps and generic chatbots, it is closer to a calculation engine with a conversational layer on top. It runs in the browser and can be added to a phone or desktop home screen.
