What is NailedIt?

NailedIt is a career tool. NailedIt runs spoken mock interviews with a live AI interviewer built from a pasted job posting, then scores five interview skills on a public rubric and rewrites your weakest answers on the paid plan.

NailedIt is a web app for rehearsing a job interview out loud with a live AI interviewer. You paste the job posting, or simply type the job title, and the tool reads the duties, skills and seniority it names, then builds questions around them. The interviewer appears on screen and speaks with you in real time, either on video or by voice, and follows up when an answer gets thin. Every screen states that the interviewer and the grader are AI. The grading model reads your transcript rather than your face, voice or accent, and it scores five skills on a public rubric: role relevance, STAR structure, specificity and evidence, communication and warmth, and a fifth skill tied to the role you picked (clinical judgment in the nursing example). Each scorecard flags the answers that cost the most points and shows seconds per answer, words per minute and filler words. Paid subscribers also see weak answers rewritten with an explanation of why the new version scores higher, plus drills on the weakest skill and a resume graded against the target job. Beyond the standard mock, the tool covers a recruiter screen round built around salary, reasons for leaving and timing, with follow-ups designed to corner you. It also simulates one-way video interviews of the HireVue type: a question appears, you get roughly 30 seconds to think, then one recorded take against a timer. Role pages exist for nursing, CNA, medical assisting, teaching, software engineering, data analysis, data science, product and project management, financial analysis and sales. Alternatives fall into two buckets: general chatbots, which the site argues tend to flatter users, and human practice partners, who often go easy on you. NailedIt positions itself as a scored, repeatable middle ground, and its free tier exists mainly to show you the first scorecard.

How do you use NailedIt?

  1. 1Paste the job posting or type a title
Start a mock from the homepage. Paste the posting you are targeting, or type the job title if that is all you have. The tool reads the duties, skills and level to draft your questions.

  2. 2Pick a round
Choose the standard interview, the recruiter screen, or a one-way video format if you are facing a recorded first round. Role-specific pages exist if you prefer a preset.

  3. 3Answer out loud
The AI interviewer appears on screen on video, or speaks by voice, and asks the questions. Answer in your own words; she will follow up where an answer is vague.
  4. 4Read your scorecard
Review the overall score, the five skill scores, and the flagged weak answers. Check metrics such as seconds per answer, words per minute and filler words against the transcript.

  5. 5Fix the weak answers and rerun
On the paid plan, read each rewritten answer and why it scores higher, work through the drills, then run the same mock again to compare.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Questions are generated from the actual job posting, so practice matches the role and levelAI
  • The grader works from the transcript and explicitly ignores face, voice and accentAI
  • The public rubric and full transcript let you audit every score the grader givesAI
  • Recruiter screen and one-way video formats are covered, not just standard Q and AAI
  • Monthly billing with no yearly lock-in, plus a 14-day refund from the account pageAI

Cons

  • The interviewer is deliberately harsher than most real interviewers, which can rattle anxious candidatesAI
  • The AI grader can be wrong, so scores need checking against the transcript rather than taken at face valueAI
  • Scores are self-referential: improvement against the rubric does not prove improvement with a human panelAI
  • No tier for anyone who wants occasional mocks, since the paid plan is flat monthlyAI
  • Practice questions cannot match the employer's real question set, and the site says soAI
