Learn moreAgentic knowledge layer that runs inside your own AWS account

nohow.ai is a self-deployed knowledge assistant that answers questions from a company's own documents with citations. It runs in the customer's AWS account and is reachable through a chat widget, REST API, CLI, MCP server or browser extension, under a one-time license.
nohow.ai is a document-grounded question answering system that a company deploys into its own AWS account. Staff upload PDFs, Word files, spreadsheets, HTML and Markdown through an admin console, and the platform indexes them with vector search. Anyone with access can then ask questions in plain English and receive answers that point back to the source document, with the page reference shown. When the answer is not in the files, the assistant is configured to say so instead of guessing. The product targets organizations whose knowledge sits in long manuals, policies and contracts: legal firms, insurers, healthcare providers, real estate, finance and government bodies are the examples it names. Support teams can put a branded chat widget on a website with one script tag, which the vendor says works on WordPress, Shopify, Squarespace and Wix. The same knowledge base is also reachable through a REST API, a command line tool, an MCP server for Claude Desktop, Cursor and Claude Code, and a browser extension for Chrome, Edge and Brave. Access tiers let public visitors, logged-in customers and internal staff see different content from one deployment. In practice, setup is a one-click deployment into AWS, a document upload, and a choice of entry points. Higher tiers add reranking, a model selector, PII redaction, multiple bots per deployment, lead capture, analytics and insight reports. The Ultra and Enterprise tiers add agentic behavior: multi-step reasoning, custom tools declared as JSON that call external APIs, Jira ticket management, a web crawler and optional live web search with labeled web-sourced paragraphs. The commercial model is the main point of difference. Instead of a monthly SaaS subscription, nohow.ai sells a one-time perpetual license, and the customer pays AWS directly for usage. That suits buyers with data residency concerns or a dislike of recurring per-seat fees, though it requires an AWS account and some tolerance for variable cloud bills. Hosted chatbot builders are simpler to start with, while nohow.ai trades that convenience for ownership and control.
