What is RoundHound?

RoundHound builds a company specific mock interview from a job link. It researches the likely interview rounds, runs them with an AI interviewer by voice or text, and returns feedback quoted from your own answers, with a private coach available mid-round.

RoundHound is an interview preparation tool that starts from a job posting rather than a generic question bank. You paste a link to the internship, first job or next role you applied for, and the service researches how that specific company runs its interview loop for that position. It reads the company's own hiring pages, its current job postings and reports from recent candidates, then produces a round by round plan showing the stages you are likely to face and what each one is testing. A plan can be built from a stack of sources, and the tool lists them so you can see what came from the employer and what was inferred from similar teams. Practice happens in the browser by voice or text. An AI interviewer runs each round at close to full length, listens, asks follow-up questions and gives thinking time, and it brings a whiteboard or code editor when the format calls for one. If you stall, a private coach can be summoned by typing @coach or saying "Hey coach" out loud; it nudges you toward your own answer and the interviewer never sees it. A friend or mentor can also take the interviewer's seat instead of the AI. Feedback is the strongest part of the product. After each round you get a skill by skill readout of what went well and what needs work, and every point quotes your own words and links back to the moment in the conversation. Where a story is missing a piece, the answer is reordered into the structure interviewers listen for and the gap is marked. Coding and design rounds point at the relevant lines. A short study guide plus a focused 20 minute round then targets the weak skill. It suits candidates from internships and new grad roles through mid career, across technical and non technical tracks. Against a $150 human mock session it is cheap and always available; against a free question list it is far more specific. The tradeoff is that the questions are simulated, not the company's real ones.

How do you use RoundHound?

  1. 1Paste a job link
Open the homepage and paste the URL of the role you applied for. A company name plus job title also works if you do not have a link handy.

  2. 2Review your researched interview plan
Check the rounds the tool laid out, their order and the skills each one tests. The plan lists the sources behind it so you can see what came from the company and what came from peer teams.

  3. 3Run a practice round
Pick a round and answer by voice or typing. The interviewer listens, follows up and lets the whiteboard or code editor appear when the format needs it.
  4. 4Turn on the coach if you get stuck
Enable hints before the round starts, then type @coach or say "Hey coach" for a nudge. The coach steers you toward your own answer and the interviewer never sees the exchange.
  5. 5Read the feedback and drill the weak skill
After the round, review the quoted moments, the marked gaps and the skill readout. Then take the short study guide and the focused 20 minute round on the skill that needs work.
  6. 6Try a premade plan
Browse an example plan to see how a researched loop is structured before committing your own job link.
