Learn moreLive US power market maps with an AI agent and price forecasts

Ask the Grid is an AI platform for power professionals, with live maps of seven US wholesale markets, an agent that explains price moves with cited data, alerts, and probabilistic price forecasts. A free workspace requires no card.
Ask the Grid is an AI platform aimed at power and energy professionals who need to understand what is happening on the US grid right now. It combines live maps of seven wholesale markets (ERCOT, CAISO, PJM, NYISO, MISO, ISO-NE and SPP), a question-answering agent, alerting, and probabilistic price forecasts in a single workspace. A summary table shows load, net load, price, generation and marginal fuel for each market on a shared clock, drawn from public ISO data that refreshes every minute. The core workflow starts with a plain-language question, such as why one settlement point priced apart from another. The agent searches a catalog of datasets, runs queries against tables like settlement point prices and binding constraints, reads outage events, and returns an answer that names the dataset, timestamp and calculation path, so an analyst can verify the result rather than trust it blindly. The map then shows where the cause sits, including price, constraint and nearest outage layers. Alerts can be set on conditions such as a price crossing a threshold at a node, with delivery to Slack, Teams or email, and a clearing notice when it falls back. Forecasting is handled by a model called Metis 1 Preview, which produces a full price distribution rather than a single number. Outputs include median and percentile ranges, the chance of exceeding a given price, spike risk, peak timing and the spread to day-ahead. The site describes the forecast examples as illustrative. The catalog is described as holding 412 datasets and more than 100 billion rows of energy and infrastructure data. The intended audience is trading desks, utilities and co-ops, ISOs and RTOs, and asset owners benchmarking a plant against its market. Enterprise features include SAML single sign-on, asset-level access rules, data residency and retention choices, private deployment options and a data processing agreement. Developers can connect Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft 365 Copilot, Cursor or Codex over an MCP server, or use an API. Compared with generic data terminals or raw ISO dashboards, the product's distinguishing angle is explanation with traceable sources.
