What is ChatSweep?

ChatSweep is a ChatGPT tool. A Chrome extension that adds checkboxes to the ChatGPT sidebar so you can select loaded conversations and delete or archive them in one reviewed batch. Free covers one small cleanup a day; Pro and Lifetime remove limits and unlock bulk archive.

ChatSweep is a Chrome extension that adds a selection layer to the ChatGPT sidebar, letting you tick off loaded conversations and then delete or archive them as a batch instead of working through the three dot menu on each one. The extension shows checkboxes next to conversations that have already been loaded into the sidebar, you review the batch, and then a single confirmed run performs the cleanup. Chat titles stay in your browser during the process; only account, plan and activation checks reach the developer's server. The workflow is deliberately cautious. The conversation currently open on screen is excluded from selection, and if you switch into a chat that was selected while a run is in progress, the job pauses. Before acting the extension verifies the page controls it depends on, and if it cannot confirm a control or a result it stops rather than guessing. You are asked to stay on the ChatGPT tab while a batch runs, since leaving pauses the task. Regular pauses between individual deletions are part of the design. It fits a fairly specific need: people with long, cluttered ChatGPT sidebars who want a periodic reset without manual clicking. Free covers the occasional tidy up, while Pro adds unlimited runs, no per run chat cap and bulk archive, which moves conversations out of the sidebar without destroying them. Lifetime is a one time purchase. Anyone wanting a full history purge in one shot should know the tool only works on chats already loaded, so older conversations must be scrolled into view first. ChatSweep is independent and not affiliated with OpenAI, and interface changes on ChatGPT's side can require extension updates.

How do you use ChatSweep?

  1. 1Install the extension from the Chrome Web Store
Add ChatSweep to Chrome on desktop. The extension is built for the ChatGPT web interface, so it runs alongside your normal chatgpt.com session.
  2. 2Load older chats into the sidebar
Scroll the ChatGPT sidebar to load the conversations you want to clear, then open the extension and refresh its selector so those chats appear as options.
  3. 3Select the chats to clean up
Show the checkboxes, tick the loaded conversations you no longer need, and keep the current chat in mind: it is excluded from selection automatically.
  4. 4Review the batch and choose delete or archive
Check the selected list before confirming. Archive (Pro and Lifetime) hides conversations without erasing them; delete removes them permanently.
  5. 5Stay on the page while it runs
Keep the ChatGPT tab focused until the run finishes. Switching tabs or apps pauses the task, and a long absence may mean starting over.
  6. 6Sign in to sync a paid plan
If you buy Pro or Lifetime on the website, sign in from the extension with the same Google account or email and the plan syncs without an activation code.
