Endless Visual Novel is an AI storytelling game in which the graphics, music, story and characters are all generated by AI during play. Rather than shipping a fixed script, the game builds scenes and dialogue as the player moves through them, so each playthrough takes a different shape. The project is developed by Augnition, a small research and development company based in Helsinki, Finland, and it is currently in open alpha. Text generation runs on GPT-J and GPT-NeoX language models, while sprites and backgrounds come from diffusion models such as Stable Diffusion. The language model also writes the prompts that steer image generation, which is how characters and locations end up matching a given setting. Music is produced from neural nets that generate MIDI samples, later post-processed for quality. Official Worlds are pregenerated by AI and adjusted by the developers for a smoother experience, but their dialogue is still generated live. The game sits somewhere between a visual novel and a choose-your-own-adventure tool. The developers position it primarily as a game rather than a writing instrument: there is no complicated configuration to work through before playing, though the world and story can be steered. Free tier players get the AI-generated experience and access to Official Worlds. The Voyager tier adds world generation from a short prompt, character and location customization, free text dialogue input, and the ability to play and share custom worlds. Creator adds access to experimental features, with asset uploads for original characters and advanced world generation both listed as upcoming. It is aimed at players who want replayable narrative with no fixed ending, and at hobbyists who want to shape a visual novel without assembling art, music and script themselves. Stories are stored under AES-256 encryption according to the site, and generated assets are not linked to accounts. Multiplayer is planned but not part of the initial alpha, and the team describes the engine as playable but quite bare, with features added in response to feedback.
