What is FlipTip AI?

FlipTip AI is an AI deal finder tool. FlipTip AI scans a thrift or flea market item from a photo, cross-checks three AI identifications, then shows real sold prices, profit after fees, sell speed and a buy or skip verdict, with listing generation and eBay publishing on higher tiers.

FlipTip AI is a resale value scanner built for the moment of decision: standing at a flea market stall, a thrift store shelf or an estate sale table with a seller waiting. A single photo of an item is run through three independent identifications that cross-check brand, model and labels, and the exact model is only named when at least two of them agree. When they disagree, the app keeps what is certain, shows the other plausible models with a confidence figure, and suggests which extra photo would settle it. Prices follow identification rather than replacing it, which is the source of the 20 to 50 second wait per scan. Once the item is pinned down, FlipTip pulls what it actually sold for on eBay, Mercari and Poshmark where those marketplaces operate, and from local marketplaces in more than 50 countries elsewhere. Paid plans turn that into net profit after fees, the highest price worth paying before haggling, a sell-speed estimate at three different asking prices, and authenticity red flags for watches, handbags and other frequently faked goods. The app does not rely on asking prices, and its own accuracy page publishes recent completed eBay sales with the AI shown only the photo, including the misses. The product goes past sourcing. A listing generator writes titles, descriptions, categories and pricing, and paid tiers add photo cleanup, one-tap publishing to eBay, a profit dashboard with expenses and a year-end report, plus eBay Autopilot for offer handling and scheduled price drops above a set floor. New accounts sample the tiers in sequence before settling into a free plan. It is aimed at casual pickers first and full-time flippers second. Resellers already fluent in eBay sold filters and Terapeak will find the verdict convenient but the margins thin at the top subscription. Sellers who enjoy the hunt but not the research are the clearest fit, and anyone who resells mainly face to face on Vinted, Kleinanzeigen or Facebook Marketplace should check local price coverage before paying.

  2. 2Scan your first item at the stall
Point the camera at a single item and take one photo. Three AI checks run separately, and the exact model is named only when at least two agree.
  3. 3Read the verdict, profit and best offer
Review the worth it or skip verdict, the expected net profit after fees, the highest price worth paying, and the sell-speed estimate at different asking prices.

  4. 4Check the identification against real sales
Look at the completed sales behind the estimate and any authenticity flags. The accuracy page shows how the identification and pricing performed on recent eBay sales.

  5. 5Generate and publish the listing
Once you own the item, build a title, description, category and price automatically, clean the photo in the app, then review and publish to eBay in one tap.
FlipTip AI — Generate and publish the listing
  6. 6Track profit and set limits for automation
Log the sale in the profit dashboard for expenses and a year report, and set a minimum price before letting Autopilot answer offers and lower prices on live eBay listings.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Three independent identifications per scan cut down confident mislabelling, and disagreements surface with confidence levels instead of being hiddenAI
  • Publishes its own accuracy testing against completed eBay sales, including typical price misses, which is rare among reseller scannersAI
  • Blends sourcing, pricing, listing and profit tracking in one app rather than forcing a handoff between separate toolsAI
  • Free plan is genuinely usable: item identification, a price estimate and the verdict at 3 scans a day with no cardAI
  • Local marketplace coverage across 50 plus countries suits European sellers, not just the US eBay crowdAI

Cons

  • Real sold-comp data and the listing writer sit on paid tiers, so the free plan cannot confirm what an item actually sold forAI
  • A typical price miss of $36 on a $100 sale is meaningful on thin-margin categories, and identification accuracy does not guarantee pricing accuracyAI
  • 20 to 50 seconds per scan is slow when a stall is busy or several items compete for attentionAI
  • Browser-based on iPhone and Android rather than native, and barcode or batch scanning is locked behind higher plansAI
  • Very little public detail on Autopilot and AI Hunter beyond the feature pages, so automating live eBay listings needs cautionAI
