What is Verdict?

Verdict is a career tool. Verdict scores 2 to 50 CV PDFs against a job description across six dimensions and returns a ranked, cited hiring document with interview questions and a fingerprinted audit trail. Credits are bought once and never expire, with no subscription.

Verdict is a candidate screening tool that scores CVs against a job description and returns a written hiring document with citations. Upload the job posting and 2 to 50 CV PDFs, and the product produces either a two-way head-to-head or a ranked shortlist, with each candidate rated on six dimensions: Capability, Track record, Trajectory, Influence, Domain edge and Risk surface. Each dimension is scored from 1 to 5 for a maximum of 30, and the reasoning behind every score is quoted verbatim from the CV. No quote means no claim, which keeps the output tied to what the candidate actually wrote. The workflow is built for busy hiring managers and small teams without an applicant tracking system. Before any candidate is scored, an optional JD Optimizer reviews the posting for ambiguity and over-specification and suggests a rewrite. A first pass then buckets each candidate as strong fit, borderline, overqualified or underqualified, so weak CVs can be excluded before credits are spent on them. The output ships with roughly ten citations per analysis, retention and over-qualification warnings, five interview questions and three reference-check questions per candidate, plus an interview kit aimed at the gaps the CV could not close. Organizations that hire repeatedly can upload 5 to 50 past hires with outcomes to build an org profile, which is applied as context in later analyses. Interview transcripts and notes can be pasted back in for a revision, and each revision carries a SHA-256 fingerprint. Decisions can be recorded as hired, rejected or pending, and the whole file exported as an audit-grade report. A Promote mode applies the same evidence discipline to internal readiness for a next role. The pitch is deliberately narrow: this is a screening aid, not a verdict machine. Verdict states plainly that it reads only what is written and cannot assess how someone performs in an interview. Compared to per-seat recruitment suites, the pricing model is the differentiator, since credits are bought once and never expire.

How do you use Verdict?

  1. 1Create an account and collect your free credits
Sign up with no card required. The signup includes 2 credits, plus a guided demo and a free head-to-head run.
  2. 2File the case: job description and CVs
Paste the job description and drop in 2 to 50 CV PDFs. Run the free JD Optimizer first if you want ambiguity and over-specification flagged before scoring begins.
  3. 3Screen before you spend
Run the fit assessment to sort every candidate into strong fit, borderline, overqualified or underqualified. Exclude anyone you do not want and pay only for the candidates you keep.
  4. 4Read the verdict
Two CVs become a head-to-head, three or more become a ranked shortlist. Expand each dimension to read the reasoning next to its verbatim citations.
  5. 5Revise and record
Paste interview notes or a transcript to trigger a revision delta, then record the decision as hired, rejected or pending with a rationale for the audit report.
  6. 6Review pricing before committing
Choose a credit pack based on pool size. Credits never expire, so unused ones carry over to the next open role.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Every score is anchored to a verbatim CV quote, typically around ten per analysis, so conclusions can be checked rather than trusted.AI
  • The pre-screen fit assessment lets you drop unsuitable candidates before spending a credit on a full analysis.AI
  • Identity is disregarded by instruction and candidate order is randomized in a head-to-head, a documented guardrail against bias.AI
  • Each analysis includes interview and reference-check questions plus retention and over-qualification flags.AI
  • Pay-as-you-go credits never expire and cost from $0.40 to $1.00 per candidate depending on pack size.AI

Cons

  • Output quality depends entirely on CV text, so candidates with thin or non-standard CVs may score poorly for reasons unrelated to ability.AI
  • Identity blindness is enforced by instruction rather than by a controlled test, and the site calls it a guardrail, not a guarantee.AI
  • Billed per candidate analyzed, so large applicant pools on the smaller packs can cost more than a flat-fee screening tool.AI
  • No self-service integration or API is documented on the homepage, which limits use inside an existing ATS workflow.AI
  • The org profile needs a history of 5 to 50 past hires with outcomes, so it is of little use to first-time or very small hiring teams.AI
