What is Foreverse?

Foreverse is an AI roleplay chat tool. A mobile AI reading and roleplay app: import epubs, continue or branch any passage, illustrate and narrate it, and chat with SillyTavern character cards using your own model API keys. No server setup required.

Foreverse is a mobile app for iPhone, iPad and Android that turns reading fiction into a writing surface. Import an epub, open it in the built-in reader, and any passage becomes an entry point: continue the scene, rephrase a paragraph, render an inline illustration from the surrounding context, listen to it narrated, or branch off in a new direction while the canon text stays archived as read-only. Branches can be switched, compared and forked again, so a single novel supports several parallel versions of the same chapter without losing the original. The second half of the product is character roleplay. Foreverse imports SillyTavern character cards and lorebooks, including group cards, and runs them as chats on the phone without Termux, a server or a desktop bridge. Memory and worldbook triggers are handled in the app, and a companion mode adds long-term memory plus proactive messages from the character. Users supply their own API keys (DeepSeek, OpenRouter, Claude and around 60 other providers are named on the site), and the keys are described as staying on the device. That bring-your-own-key model means generation quality and cost track whichever model is connected rather than a fixed in-app allowance. Beyond the reader and roleplay, there is a visual novel theater that converts any shelf novel into typewriter dialogue with speaker plates and story forks, writing each choice back into the book. The community hub carries official novels and public character cards that can be imported directly. Labs pages cover card creation, a cost calculator, lore trigger testing and a fiction benchmark. Foreverse suits readers who want to write inside the books they read, and roleplay users who already maintain SillyTavern cards but want them off the desktop. Compared with browser-based tavern frontends it trades plugin breadth for a native mobile reading and branching experience.

How do you use Foreverse?

  1. 1Install the app on iPhone, iPad or Android
Use the App Store or Google Play badges on the download page. Check the regional availability notes first, since iPhone distribution is limited outside mainland China.
  2. 2Connect your own model provider
Open the BYOK page to see how provider keys are handled, then add a key for a provider such as DeepSeek, OpenRouter or Claude. Keys are described as staying on the device.
  3. 3Import a novel or a character card
Load an epub from your shelf to read and branch, or pull a public card from the community hub. Cards such as Ye Zhou or Yin Wudu can be previewed on the site before importing.
  4. 4Continue or branch from a passage
Select text in the reader and pick Continue to get three directions, or New branch to write toward a different future while the canon stays archived as read-only.
  5. 5Turn the book into a visual novel
Send a novel to the theater to play it as typewriter dialogue with speaker plates and forks. Each choice is written back into the book and you exit on the page you performed.
  6. 6Organize the story world
Use the world organizer and the lore trigger lab to keep worldbooks and memory consistent across branches and long roleplay sessions.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Imports existing SillyTavern character cards and lorebooks, including group cards, without Termux or a self-hosted serverAI
  • Branching keeps the canon text archived as read-only, so experiments never overwrite the original passageAI
  • Bring-your-own-key setup covers roughly 60 providers, putting model choice and spend under the user's controlAI
  • Five real page-turn styles, 14 selection actions and full-chapter narration make the reader feel purpose-built rather than a chat boxAI
  • The visual novel theater writes choices back into the book, so performance and reading stay in syncAI

Cons

  • The app is not available on the mainland China App Store, and iPhone availability is limited to selected regionsAI
  • Nothing works without an external API key and a provider account, so real running costs sit outside the appAI
  • Core reading depends on importing epubs, and the site gives no detail on DRM-protected store purchasesAI
  • Model quality varies widely across the supported providers, so roleplay and continuation output depends heavily on which key is connectedAI
  • Feature depth (theater, card studio, lore triggers) arrives faster than documentation, and several items are still labelled labs or prototypeAI
