What is Linkeddit?

Linkeddit is a productivity tool. Linkeddit Studio is a Mac and Windows video editor that lets Claude Code, Codex or other MCP clients make edits on a local timeline. Captions run locally with Whisper, and a one-time $99 licence replaces subscriptions and credits.

Linkeddit Studio is a desktop video and image editor for Mac and Windows that hands the editing work to an AI assistant the user already pays for. Instead of selling credits or a hosted model, it connects to Claude Code, Codex, Claude Desktop, Cursor or any other MCP client, and exposes its timeline as a set of tools those agents can call. The person selects a clip, a frame or a stretch of the timeline, describes the change in plain words, and watches the agent carry it out. In practice the app is organised around three views: a timeline, a board and an export screen. The board is a planning surface where clips, notes and an agent chat sit side by side, so a cut can be outlined before anything is placed on the timeline. Captions are generated by a Whisper model that runs locally, with no key required, and the lines land on the timeline directly. Optional keys for OpenAI, Groq, ElevenLabs or Gemini add cloud transcription, voiceover and image generation, and those keys are held in the system keychain. Every agent action appears in an agent panel, and each change can be undone from the history. The ownership model is the main differentiator. Projects and media stay on the local disk, telemetry is off, and the only network traffic is the user's own model calls plus licence activation. Pricing is a single $99 payment covering up to three computers, with AI usage billed by whichever provider the user connects. The Windows installer is not yet code-signed, so SmartScreen may show a warning on first run. The intended audience is creators cutting shorts and long videos, marketers producing size and format variants, founders making demo and launch videos, and agencies running client edits on their own AI accounts. Compared with subscription editors that bundle AI features and credits, Studio is a thinner shell that depends on an external agent for its intelligence. It suits people already comfortable with Claude Code, Codex or MCP configuration. The same company also makes Linkeddit Core, a separate competitor and demand intelligence product that Studio does not require.
