What is APIScout?

APIScout is an AI aggregators tool. APIScout sends a single prompt to ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude at once, then shows the three responses side by side with per model parameter controls and support for bring your own API keys.

APIScout is a web based comparison surface for the three most used large language model families: OpenAI's ChatGPT (with GPT-4o, GPT-4o mini, GPT-4 Turbo, GPT-4 and GPT-3.5 Turbo engines), Google's Gemini (2.5 Pro, 2.5 Flash and 2.0 Flash) and Anthropic's Claude (Sonnet 4.5, Opus 4.1 and Haiku 4.5). Instead of switching browser tabs or maintaining three separate chat histories, a single prompt is dispatched to each provider and the responses line up next to each other for direct inspection. The design assumes the user brings their own keys. Separate fields accept an OpenAI key, a Gemini key and an Anthropic key, and a save option keeps them on hand for later sessions. Every model column exposes the parameters that matter for tuning output: temperature, top_p, top_k, frequency penalty, presence penalty, max output tokens and model selection differ slightly by provider, and APIScout mirrors each vendor's own naming so the settings map cleanly back to the underlying API. A per provider opt out lets a user drop one engine from a given run, and an option to log output for later download suggests runs can be archived rather than read once and lost. The obvious audience is developers and prompt engineers who need to see how the same instruction lands across vendors, or who want a rough sense of response timing and token usage before committing to an integration. The pitch also extends to non technical users who want a second and third opinion on a piece of writing without learning three interfaces. Prompts can be long: the input field accepts up to 20,000 characters, which suits pasted documents and lengthy system style instructions. Where APIScout fits is the small but crowded niche of model playgrounds and routing dashboards. It is narrower than a full evaluation platform (no scoring rubrics or batch datasets are advertised) and narrower than a general chat client, but it is more transparent than a consumer app that hides the model layer. Users still pay each provider for their own usage, and the tool's value depends on having keys for all three services. As a quick side by side sanity check before a build decision, that is a reasonable trade.

How do you use APIScout?

  1. 1Open APIScout and locate the prompt box
The homepage loads with a single prompt field capped at 20,000 characters. Paste the instruction or document you want each model to answer.
  2. 2Enter your provider API keys
Add an OpenAI key, a Gemini key and an Anthropic key in their respective fields. Use Save My API Keys to keep them for future sessions, or leave one blank to skip that provider.
  3. 3Pick models and tune parameters
In each advanced panel choose the engine (for example gpt-4o, gemini-2.5-pro or claude-sonnet-4-5) and adjust temperature, top_p, top_k, penalties and max tokens to match the behaviour you want.
  4. 4Submit the prompt and compare
Click Submit Prompt. The three columns populate with ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude responses so you can read them against each other.
  5. 5Archive the run if needed
Enable Log output to be downloaded later before submitting when you want a record of the comparison. Files download from within the logged session after responses return.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Single prompt reaches three model families, which removes tab switching during comparisonsAI
  • Per provider parameter controls (temperature, top_p, top_k, penalties, max tokens) are exposed rather than hiddenAI
  • Supports long prompts up to 20,000 characters, useful for pasted documentsAI
  • Any engine can be excluded from a run, so two way comparisons are easyAI
  • Optional output logging for later download keeps a record of comparisonsAI

Cons

  • Requires API keys from OpenAI, Google and Anthropic; users without all three get partial valueAI
  • No scoring, ranking or batch evaluation features are advertised, so results are read manuallyAI
  • Homepage lists model versions that will age quickly as providers release new onesAI
  • No pricing, free tier or support information is published on the homepageAI
  • No mobile apps or integrations are mentioned; the experience appears browser onlyAI

Features

A single prompt runs against ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude simultaneously. Engine choice covers several OpenAI, Google and Anthropic models. Each provider panel exposes its own parameter set: temperature, top_p, top_k, frequency and presence penalties where applicable, and max output tokens. Prompts accept up to 20,000 characters, any provider can be excluded from a run, API keys can be saved, and outputs can be logged for later download.
