What is CloudCLI?

CloudCLI is a developer tool. CloudCLI hosts persistent cloud environments with Claude Code, Cursor CLI, Codex, Gemini CLI and OpenCode pre-installed. Sessions start from a phone, browser or API and continue in VS Code over SSH. The core UI is open source under AGPL-3.

CloudCLI is a hosted development environment built around AI coding agents rather than around the editor. Claude Code, Cursor CLI, Codex, Gemini CLI and OpenCode come pre-installed in isolated containers that keep running after the user's laptop closes. Terminal sessions, running processes and file changes all survive, so a task can be started in one place and picked up in another without losing context. The workflow is aimed at developers who already pay for an agent and want to reach it from anywhere. A session can be started from a phone browser (or an installed PWA), the web UI, an API, or automation tools such as n8n, Linear and Jira. The web interface offers agent chat, a real terminal, a file explorer and Git. When the user reaches a desk, the same environment can be opened in VS Code or Cursor over SSH, with all files and edits in place. Agents can also be triggered to work in the background while the user is away. CloudCLI does not supply the AI itself. Users bring their own API key or subscription for each agent, and keys are stored encrypted inside the environment. Plans are priced per environment, with a Team tier that adds shared MCP servers, context files such as CLAUDE.md and .cursorrules, environment variables and role-based membership, while each developer still gets an isolated container. GitHub is supported, along with GitLab and Bitbucket. The hosted product sits on top of CloudCLI Open Source (the claudecodeui project), released under AGPL-3, so teams can also run the UI locally or on their own VPS. Among alternatives, it differs from Claude Code Remote Control by not depending on a local machine staying awake, from Claude Code on the web by offering a persistent, customisable environment that hosts several agents, and from GitHub Codespaces by being tuned to agent workflows with flat monthly pricing instead of hourly billing. Developers who only use one agent on a single machine may find it more infrastructure than they need.

How do you use CloudCLI?

  1. 1Create an account
Sign up on the login page to receive a free trial with no credit card required. The trial covers 2 hours of runtime on one environment within 2 days.
  2. 2Connect your agent and keys
Add your own API key or subscription for Claude Code, Cursor, Codex or Gemini. Keys are stored encrypted inside the environment.
  3. 3Start a session from your phone
Open the environment in a mobile browser or install it as a PWA, then give the agent a task through chat. The terminal, file explorer and Git are available too.
  4. 4Continue in VS Code over SSH
Connect VS Code or Cursor to the same environment via SSH and find the files and changes already in place.
  5. 5Share setup with a team
On the Team plan, share MCP servers, context files and environment variables so every developer starts from the same configuration.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Sessions keep running in the cloud, so closing a laptop or losing a connection does not interrupt the agentAI
  • Supports several agents (Claude Code, Cursor CLI, Codex, Gemini CLI, OpenCode) in one workspace with no provider lock-inAI
  • Same session is reachable from a phone, browser, VS Code or Cursor over SSHAI
  • Core UI is open source under AGPL-3 and can be self-hosted for full data controlAI
  • Flat monthly plans from €7 with a no-card trial, instead of per-hour billingAI

Cons

  • Does not include any AI: users must separately pay for their own Claude, Cursor, Codex or Gemini accessAI
  • Entry plan gives only one active environment with 2 CPU cores and 4GB RAM, which may be tight for heavy buildsAI
  • Free trial is short: 2 hours of runtime within 2 days of signing upAI
  • Extra environments cost €5/month each, so costs rise for users juggling many projectsAI
  • Self-hosting the open source version leaves out the managed environments and team featuresAI
