Image3D.io is a design tool that turns a single picture into a printable STL mesh in your browser. Image3D.io converts one photo, render or sketch into a 3D mesh in the browser and exports STL, GLB, OBJ or PLY files.
Image3D.io is a browser-based generator that converts a single 2D image into a 3D mesh and exports it as an STL file for 3D printing. The image can be a photo, an AI render or a sketch, uploaded as a PNG or JPG up to 20 MB. The AI estimates depth and surface geometry, builds a model, and a browser-side exporter then writes a binary STL at a print size chosen in millimeters, from 5 mm to 300 mm on the longest side. The workflow is built around previewing before paying. New accounts get a free Standard preview, which finishes in about a minute and shows whether the source image yields a usable shape. Pro and Ultra tiers cost more credits and add detail, with Ultra reaching up to one million faces. Downloads in STL, GLB, OBJ and PLY unlock with a paid plan, starting with a one-time Maker pack that includes 1,000 credits and Pro access. Ultra is reserved for higher plans. The site is candid about limits. Single objects with clean silhouettes and simple backgrounds work best, while human portraits, side-view faces, tiny text, blurry inputs and crowded scenes are described as experimental or prone to disconnected islands. Every exported file is meant to be inspected in a slicer such as Cura, PrusaSlicer, Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer, Simplify3D or IdeaMaker for scale, wall thickness, supports and orientation. For models that are close but fragile, a paid human Printable Model Fix service offers basic repair, a scale review and one revision. The audience is hobbyist printers, tabletop gamers making terrain and miniatures, cosplayers building props, product designers sketching prototypes, and sellers turning AI art into physical items. Compared with full CAD or sculpting software, it trades precision for speed, and it suits first-draft meshes rather than engineered parts.
