ProNoto

Study a topic, then say it out loud with a voice-following teleprompter.

What is ProNoto?

ProNoto turns PDFs, notes, lectures or a bare topic into summaries, mind maps, flashcards and quizzes, then converts what you learned into a script and a voice-following teleprompter that floats over video calls and camera recordings. Free tier included, with a low-cost Plus plan.

ProNoto is a workspace that joins two jobs usually handled by separate apps: learning material and delivering it out loud. A notebook starts from a PDF, slide deck, lecture recording, web page, scan or a plain topic. ProNoto then builds a summary, a mind map, flashcards and a multiple-choice quiz from that source, all editable inside a full note editor. A tutor called Noto answers questions grounded in the notebook's own material, so answers stay tied to the sources rather than drifting into general chat. The practice side is where the product diverges from study tools. After a quiz, ProNoto flags weak topics and brings missed questions back in later reviews. After a rehearsal, it reports a speaking pace analysis (for example a rushed intro at 172 words per minute against 138 for the rest) and counts filler words. A script generator turns notebook content into a one-minute spoken explanation, which feeds directly into the teleprompter. The teleprompter is a transparent overlay that floats above Zoom, Meet, Teams or any other app, positioned under the camera and visible only to the presenter unless the whole screen is shared. Voice Follow scrolls the script as the speaker talks and pauses when they stop, instead of running at a fixed speed. Recording works in a phone browser with the script next to the lens, watermarked on the free tier. The Chrome extension handles the same job on any tab and captures pages into notebooks in one click. Students, job seekers rehearsing interview answers, creators recording in one take and professionals keeping talking points on screen are the stated audiences. Against NotebookLM, the pitch is a wider loop: capture, notes, mind maps, spaced review, then scripted delivery. Against Quizlet or Anki, the difference is the speaking layer and connected notebooks. The Chrome extension has run since 2024 at a 4.8 rating, and the team reports more than 200,000 teleprompter plays and 100,000 notebooks.

How do you use ProNoto?

  1. 1Pick a starting point
From the homepage choose presenting (teleprompter) or studying (notebook). Both paths work without a card, and the teleprompter can be tried without signing up.
  2. 2Build your first notebook
Create a notebook and drop in a PDF, slides, a voice recording, a scan or a link, or type a topic and let ProNoto draft an editable outline first.
  3. 3Work through summary, mind map and Noto
Read the generated summary, open the mind map to see how concepts connect, and ask Noto questions grounded in the notebook sources.
  4. 4Practise with flashcards and the quiz
Review the generated flashcards and take the quiz. Missed answers are tracked and reappear in later reviews, with a weak-spot report after each round.
  5. 5Generate a script and rehearse
Turn the notebook into a short spoken script, then run it in the teleprompter with Voice Follow on so the text tracks your pace and pauses with you.
  6. 6Check pricing before committing
Compare the free allowances against Plus if you need unlimited Voice Follow, app-wide overlay and watermark-free phone recording.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • One workspace covers study material and spoken delivery, replacing a separate flashcard app and teleprompter subscriptionAI
  • Voice Follow pauses and resumes with your speech rather than scrolling at a fixed rateAI
  • Overlay stays private under the camera during Zoom, Meet and Teams calls when you share a single windowAI
  • Free plan is unusually complete: unlimited notebooks, flashcards, quizzes and auto-scroll scriptsAI
  • Post-rehearsal feedback reports words per minute and filler word counts, which is rare in this categoryAI

Cons

  • Voice Follow is capped at 10 minutes a month on the free tier, so regular rehearsal requires PlusAI
  • Phone recording is browser-only; native iPhone and Android apps are still described as on the wayAI
  • Teleprompter privacy depends on the user choosing a window share, a mistake that exposes the script to the callAI
  • Breadth means shallow spots: note editing, spaced review and speaking analytics all compete for the same productAI
  • No public API or third-party integrations are documented, which limits teams that want to pipe content in programmaticallyAI
