What is Read Your Scan?

Read Your Scan is an image analysis tool. Read Your Scan explains MRI, CT, X-ray and ultrasound reports in plain words, scores each finding and pins it on a browser 3D viewer. A paid Deep Analysis adds an AI second read made without seeing the report.

Read Your Scan is a web service that turns imaging reports into something a patient can follow. Users upload an MRI, CT, X-ray or ultrasound (a DICOM folder, a hospital CD, a NIfTI file, JPG/PNG images or a photo of an X-ray) and add the radiologist's report as a PDF or pasted text. Each sentence of the report becomes a finding that is rewritten in everyday language, given a severity from normal to significant, and pinned to the matching spot on the images in a browser-based 3D viewer. The second layer is a paid feature called Deep Analysis. It reads every series of the exam from scratch without seeing the radiologist's report, using the scan's own geometry to establish the plane and which side is the patient's right, and it takes the patient's age, sex and described symptoms into account. The result is shown beside the report, so findings both readers raise can be told apart from those only one raises. The site says it compares several models on studies with known diagnoses and routes each exam to the best performer, with Claude Opus, Gemini and Google's MedGemma named in the roster. Follow-up questions are answered from the user's own report and images. The audience is patients and families who received a report full of jargon and want to prepare questions for an appointment. Supporting material includes free guides for common exams, a report glossary, a blog on individual report phrases, and standalone viewers for DICOM, MRI, CT, X-ray, ultrasound and NIfTI. Exams can be archived in an account and shared with a doctor through a private read-only link that can be revoked. Compared with pasting a screenshot into a general chatbot, the approach is built around the real volume rather than a flat image, and identifying details are stripped in the browser before upload. The site repeatedly states that output is informational and not a diagnosis, and the severity score echoes the report's wording rather than adding a new clinical judgment. It suits individual patients, not clinical workflows.

How do you use Read Your Scan?

  1. 1Look at a sample reading
Open the demo to see a full AI reading, including the severity gauge and pinned findings, before uploading any personal scan.
  2. 2Upload your scan
Add a DICOM folder, hospital CD files, a NIfTI file or images. Identifying details are stripped in your browser first.
  3. 3Add the radiologist's report
Paste the report text or upload the PDF. Each sentence becomes a plain-language finding with a severity score, pinned on the images.
  4. 4Order a Deep Analysis
Sign in to request the AI second opinion, which reads every series without seeing the report, and compare the two readings.
  5. 5Share the exam with your doctor
Create a private read-only link to the images and mapped findings, which your doctor opens without an account and you can revoke.
