Reglyph is a translation tool that translates scanned PDFs while columns, tables and figures stay put. Reglyph translates scanned and image-only PDFs while keeping the original layout, including tables, columns, figures, stamps and numbers. It offers 5 free pages daily, page-based pricing and a bilingual side-by-side download option.
Reglyph is a web-based document translator built around one hard case: scanned and image-only PDFs. Most translators expect a digital text layer and either fail, skip pages or return garbled characters when handed a scan. Reglyph reads the image itself, translates the text, and puts the result back on the page, so the output looks like the original document in a different language. The workflow has three steps. A user uploads a PDF of up to 100 MB, which can be a phone scan saved as a PDF. The tool detects the source language, removes the original words from each page and sets the translation in the same position. The user then checks every page against the original and downloads either the translated PDF or a bilingual PDF showing original and translation side by side, page for page. No separate OCR step or manual reformatting is needed. Layout fidelity is the main selling point. Tables keep their rows and cells, multi-column text keeps its columns, headings are re-set inside the same box, and paragraphs beside figures stay beside them. Stamps, seals, signatures, photos, illustrations and numeric values are left untouched rather than redrawn. That makes it relevant for people handling birth certificates, academic transcripts, bank statements, medical records, legal documents, and old books or manuscripts, each of which has its own landing page on the site. Language pairs such as Japanese to English, English to Chinese and French to English appear in the demos, and further pairs are listed on the site. Among alternatives, Reglyph sits between general machine translators, which tend to flatten scans into plain text or refuse them, and chat-based assistants that return a reply rather than a finished document. It also competes with human translation services on speed and cost, though it does not claim certified output. Pricing is page-based, with a free daily allowance, a one-time pay-as-you-go pack and two monthly subscriptions, and scanned files carry no price multiplier.
