What is Story2Board?

Story2Board is a web-based AI co-director that turns an idea or script into shot plans, consistent storyboard panels, revisions and a PDF board, using pay-as-you-go credits that never expire instead of a subscription.

Story2Board is a browser-based storyboarding tool that treats the AI as a co-director rather than a plain image generator. A user starts with a rough idea or an uploaded script, and the system helps develop the story, then proposes framing, camera angles and camera moves for each shot. Panels are generated from those shot plans and collected into a board that can be exported as a detailed PDF. The product is aimed at people who have a story but little training in shot design: weekend filmmakers, first-time short-film makers, music video creators, and students or pitch teams who need to show an idea before they can shoot it. Its main pitch is against the prompt-and-regenerate loop, where a single image model produces a nice-looking grid that is hard to adjust shot by shot. In practice, everything happens in one workspace that holds the script, cast, scenes and board. A chat panel lets the user rewrite dialogue, add a character or request a panel, and the board updates as the conversation moves. When the script or a character changes, the assistant flags shots that no longer line up and offers a fix. Characters, locations and props are saved as reusable assets so faces and wardrobe stay consistent across panels. For shot suggestions, the assistant draws on a reference library of more than 270,000 annotated shots from 250 acclaimed films, and it explains why a given shot is suggested. Images are generated with Nano Banana, Nano Banana 2 and Nano Banana Pro. Billing is credit-based instead of subscription-based. New accounts receive 300 credits, one credit equals one cent, and purchased credits do not expire. Credits cover both image generation and chat with the co-director. Among alternatives, Story2Board sits between general image generators, which lack project structure, and traditional storyboarding software, which lacks AI shot planning. Exports are currently watermark-free, and commercial use of generated content is permitted, subject to third-party rights and underlying model terms.

Start a project by explaining the scene in plain English or uploading an existing script. No film terminology is needed.
  3. 3Build cast, locations and props
Save characters, places and props as reusable assets so the same faces and wardrobe carry across every panel.
  4. 4Plan shots with the co-director
Chat to refine the story and review suggested framing, angles and camera moves, including the reasoning behind each choice.
  5. 5Generate and revise panels
Create panels, check the credit cost shown beforehand, and edit individual shots or script lines. The assistant flags anything that no longer lines up.
  6. 6Export the PDF board
Once the board reads well, export it as a detailed PDF to share for pitches, class work or production planning.
