Learn moreOn-device focus tracking for Mac that shows when you do your best work

10x is a Mac app that tracks app usage in the background and uses on-device AI to reveal focus patterns, best hours and habits that break concentration. It needs no account, keeps data local and is free during early access.
10x is a Mac application that monitors which apps and window titles are active throughout the day, then uses AI running on the machine itself to turn that activity into a picture of how well you focus. It is aimed at knowledge workers, developers, designers and anyone who suspects their schedule is working against their concentration but cannot say exactly why. Setup is minimal. After downloading the app, the user grants Accessibility permission, which lets 10x see the frontmost application and read window titles. From there it runs in the background with no timers to start and nothing to log by hand. Activity is sorted into deep work, shallow work and distraction, and the app presents this through several views: a Today screen with active time and per-app usage, Session Insights with a written coaching note and day summary, and Focus Trends with a daily heatmap, weekly growth over eight weeks and context switches per hour. The analysis goes beyond time totals. 10x looks for persistent patterns such as the best days and the optimal focus window, the sites and apps that interrupt most often, and which behaviors predict a good day, for example delaying Slack or starting earlier. It also tracks a Focus Tier across five levels, personal records, streaks and consistency, so that focus becomes something measurable week over week. Some findings are meant to be uncomfortable, such as opening a chat app many times with only a few minutes per visit. Privacy is a central part of the design. Activity data lives in a local folder on the Mac, the AI analysis does not call a cloud API, no account or sign-in is needed, and all data can be deleted in one click. The app is Apple-notarized and currently free during early access. Among alternatives, 10x sits between general time trackers, which record hours but offer little interpretation, and website blockers, which restrict behavior without explaining it. Its niche is diagnosis and coaching for Mac users who want insight without sending their activity history to a server.
