Album Art Creator makes square album covers from a song description, your own image, a photo or a template. Titles stay editable layers, and a pre-flight check tests files against Spotify, DistroKid, TuneCore and CD Baby rules before download.
Album Art Creator is a browser-based cover maker for musicians who need a square image that passes Spotify, Apple Music, DistroKid, TuneCore, CD Baby and Bandcamp requirements. It offers five ways in: describe a song, bring an image made elsewhere (Suno, Midjourney, ChatGPT), upload a photo, pick a finished template, or talk to an agent called Guide me that builds a brief from plain-language instructions. When starting from a song, the user enters a title, genre and a few words or lyrics. The generator writes four concept cards (abstract, scene, portrait and typography) before anything renders, and the user ticks the ones worth paying for. Each of the 31 genres carries its own visual language and font pack, and the site states that no model was trained for this. Paid covers are rendered with Seedream 4.5, free ones with Z-Image, and photo work uses Nano Banana 2 and Topaz. The title is kept as a separate editable layer rather than baked into the picture, so a typo or a new font does not require a new image. Editing never costs a credit. A pre-flight check inspects size, format, colour space, file size and on-cover text against published distributor rules on the exact file being downloaded, and many problems have a one-click fix. Exports come as 3000 or 4096 pixel squares in JPG or PNG, each with a no-text version. Pricing is credit-based. Own images and templates are free, a photo used as it is is free, and film-look treatments cost credits. Covers generated on the free tier download at 2048 pixels, while Pro and credit packs unlock larger sizes and commercial use. Images used as they are stay in the browser. Against Canva-style editors, generic AI image generators and commissioned designers, the tool positions itself as a cheaper, faster route that is built around distribution rules. It suits independent artists, producers and anyone releasing AI-assisted music who wants a compliant cover without a design brief.
