Learn moreAI file organizer that renames, sorts and searches by content

Filex AI is a file and document manager for iPhone, Android and web that renames, organizes and searches files by content. It adds OCR, plain English rules, cited answers from your documents and a Chrome extension for screenshots and downloads.
Filex AI is a file and document management app that reads what is inside a file and uses that understanding to rename, sort and retrieve it. Instead of asking people to build folder trees by hand, it accepts uploads such as PDFs, scans, photos and spreadsheets, works out what each one is, and files it under a clear name built from the document type, dates, names and amounts it finds. In practice, a user drops in a pile of files, states a rule in plain English (for example, group by client, then by category), and the app applies that rule to everything, including nested folders. Built-in OCR makes scanned pages and screenshots searchable, and the mobile scanner turns a camera shot of a passport, lease or receipt into a named, filed and indexed document. Search is conversational: asking for a signed lease or an invoice total returns an answer that cites the source file, and the app flags expiry and due dates it detects. Saved groupings called Lenses stay current as new files arrive. A Chrome extension captures screenshots and sorts downloads automatically, and a connection feature lets assistants such as ChatGPT or Claude find, read and organize files on the user's behalf. The product targets individuals who have lost track of documents, along with students, freelancers, small businesses, property managers, HR teams and professionals in legal, healthcare and tax work. It runs on iPhone, iPad, Android and the web, so a scan made on a phone appears in the browser workspace. The site also states that files are encrypted in transit and at rest, are processed only during the organisation workflow, and are not used for model training. Among alternatives, it sits between plain cloud drives, which leave filing entirely to the user, and standalone scanner apps, which capture documents but rarely manage them afterwards. Its value rests on automatic renaming and natural language retrieval across one library.
