What is Floatboat?

Floatboat is a Mac and Windows agent runtime that reads your calendar and launches AI agents to prepare briefs, produce drafts and send follow-ups around each event, with per-event workspaces and built-in access to many models.

Floatboat is a desktop agent runtime that treats a calendar as its clock. Instead of waiting for a typed prompt, it reads upcoming events, works out what each one needs, and launches AI agents before, during and after. A meeting can get a prepared brief, a deadline can get a draft waiting, and a finished call can get a follow-up. It connects to Google Calendar, Notion Calendar, Lark, Outlook, iCloud or any ICS feed. Each event opens its own Agent Workspace, a persistent space holding files, run history, model choice and decisions. Users can edit prompts, swap the model or re-run a single step. Reusable skills come from the Combo Store (for example turning sales calls into follow-up emails or Linear tickets into pull request drafts), while the Workflow Store covers fixed automations triggered by webhooks, schedules or the browser. Auto Mode routes each step of a Combo to a cheaper or stronger model and switches providers when one is rate-limited. Models listed include GPT-5, Claude, Gemini, DeepSeek, MiniMax, GLM and Kimi, available without separate API keys. Connectivity is built on MCP and the company's IACT protocol, with a stated 3,500+ integrations spanning Notion, Slack, GitHub, Linear, Google Drive, Gmail, Figma and local Word, PDF and PowerPoint files. Permissions are scoped per calendar event rather than per account. A companion app, FloatIM, offers a group chat where local AI agents divide roles and hand back finished artifacts, and it is also available on iOS. The audience is mainly solopreneurs, creators, small business owners and studios of two to five people who want one workspace in place of several AI subscriptions. Compared with chat assistants such as ChatGPT, the difference is the trigger: schedule-driven rather than prompt-driven. Teams that need a browser-only tool should note that the primary product is a Mac and Windows download, and the release is still at version 0.4.0.
