What is MNML?

MNML is a drawing to image tool. An AI rendering and visualization studio for architects, turning sketches, photos and SketchUp, Revit or Rhino views into editable, upscalable renders, with a comparison board, free modeling plugins and credit-based pricing.

MNML is an AI rendering studio aimed squarely at architects and the people who work alongside them: visualization teams, competition crews, interior designers and landscape planners. The premise is narrow on purpose. Instead of a general image generator that needs a paragraph of prompt engineering, MNML takes what you already have (a sketch, a site photo, or a view exported from SketchUp, Revit, Rhino or Blender) and turns it into a photoreal image without lighting, material or render engine setup. The company reports 2.5 million registered users and use at more than 2,400 firms and 250 universities. The product splits into two workspaces that share one project, library and credit balance. Studio follows a single image through the whole arc: a guided render where light, season, materials and camera are controls rather than prompt text, then region-level edits with a mask, object removal, frame extension and upscaling to 8K, and finally an optional short clip with shots named the way an architect would brief them (walkthrough, drone view, hero shot). Flow is an infinite board where up to four variations land next to their source, each carrying a record of the references and prompt behind it, so options get compared rather than guessed at. Collaborators can join a board as viewers or editors, with sticky notes and live cursors for review sessions. Beyond the browser, free plugins put a MNML panel inside SketchUp 2026, Revit 2024 to 2027, Rhino 8 and Grasshopper, rendering the active viewport and placing the result back into the model in one undo. A connector also brings rendering and editing into ChatGPT, Claude and other assistants. Pricing runs on credits, with the cost shown on the button before any spend, and new accounts start with free credits and no card. Teams get pooled credits, per-member caps and role-based access. Where it fits: it competes with visualization-specific AI renderers and with generic image models, and it wins on architectural vocabulary and file lineage rather than on sheer stylistic range. Studios already deep in a traditional pipeline can use it as a fast concept and iteration layer, while solo architects may find the credit system and project structure heavier than a one-shot tool.

How do you use MNML?

  1. 1Create a free account
Register with the signup page to receive free credits. No payment card is requested at this stage, so the first renders can be run before any commitment.

  2. 2Pick a one-shot tool or open Studio
For a fast result, start from a task-specific tool such as Exterior AI, Interior AI or Sketch to Image. For a controlled pass with light, season, materials and camera as settings, open Studio instead.

  3. 3Upload your source and declare what it shows
Bring a sketch, site photo or exported view as JPG, PNG or WebP up to 50 MB, then state whether the image is an exterior, interior, masterplan, landscape, plan or product. The settings follow that choice rather than a written prompt.
  4. 4Add references with distinct roles
Attach up to ten reference images and assign each one a single job, such as style, material, atmosphere, colour or geometry, so two references never compete for the same role.
  5. 5Refine one region at a time
Mask the area that needs to change, describe the difference and apply. Use erase for objects that should not be in frame, then extend the crop or upscale to 8K before the image goes into a deck.
  6. 6Compare options on Flow and share the board
Send variants to Flow to read up to four results beside their source, branch the one that works and invite collaborators as viewers or editors for the review.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Purpose-built architectural vocabulary covering exterior, interior, landscape, masterplan, floor plan and product rendersAI
  • Studio and Flow share one project and library, so a single-shot render can continue as an edited, animated or branched pieceAI
  • Free plugins for SketchUp, Revit, Rhino and Grasshopper render the live viewport and write the result back into the model in one undoAI
  • Every output records its sources and prompt, and edits land as new images rather than overwriting the originalAI
  • Content is not used to train models and renders are cleared for commercial use, which matters for client workAI

Cons

  • Credit-based consumption means heavy iteration on a large competition can drain a balance quickly, and the source gives no credit-to-image ratioAI
  • Built for architecture and interiors, so illustrators, product designers or general image work will find the controls constrainingAI
  • Assistants and plugins multiply the surfaces to manage, and teams must keep accounts, credits and libraries aligned across all of themAI
  • Plugin coverage is version-specific (SketchUp 2026, Revit 2024 to 2027, Rhino 8), so older pipelines are left outAI
