What is OneSecure?

OneSecure is a productivity tool. OneSecure Shadow AI Guardian is a free Windows app that detects AI apps, local models, extensions and AI websites on a PC, scores the risk and explains EU AI Act obligations, with all scanning done locally.

OneSecure Shadow AI Guardian is a Windows application that inventories the AI tools present on a single PC. It looks for AI apps and assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, Perplexity and Cursor, local models run through Ollama, LM Studio or GPT4All, AI servers listening on a network port, AI extensions in browsers and VS Code, MCP servers, agent frameworks, and AI websites visited in Chrome, Edge and Brave. Website tracking can be switched off. The product targets small and mid-sized organisations, IT administrators and compliance owners who need to know which AI tools staff actually use before they can manage them. Its framing rests on article 4 of the EU AI Act, which since 2 February 2025 expects organisations to ensure sufficient AI literacy among people who use AI. Since training cannot cover tools nobody knows about, the scan acts as the discovery step. Each finding receives a risk score, and the app presents guidance on what the regulation asks of the organisation. In practice, the app is installed from Microsoft Store on Windows 10 or 11, which also handles updates. The scan runs locally and the findings stay on the machine, an important point for anyone wary of sending an inventory of software to a cloud service. Users can mark individual tools as approved, which separates sanctioned use from the unknown. The free tier covers the full scan, risk score and guidance. Basic adds PDF and CSV reports, a history of AI tools over time, alerts when a new tool appears and e-mail support. Business adds a dashboard across all PCs, a shared approved-tools policy and logins in the OneSecure portal, with a five-PC minimum. Among alternatives, it sits closer to a lightweight endpoint discovery utility than to a full enterprise data-loss or CASB platform. It is Windows-only and per-PC, which suits small fleets and audits but offers less depth for large mixed-device estates. Paid plans come with a 14-day free trial.
