What is Pixelcut?

Pixelcut is a developer tool that turns one still image into a seamless looping video via API. A developer API from Pixelcut that converts a single still image into a seamless 5 to 15 second looping MP4, using either subtle natural motion or a full 360 degree spin with a fixed camera.

Pixelcut's Looping Video API takes a single still image and returns a seamless 5 to 15 second MP4 that plays back in an endless loop without a visible jump or cut. Two motion styles are available. The default subtle mode animates only elements that would plausibly move in a photograph: clothing and hair in a light breeze, drifting foliage, rising steam, shimmering reflections or ambient particles. The spin mode rotates the subject through a full 360 degrees and lands exactly on the starting frame, which gives isolated products and people a turntable effect while the camera itself stays fixed. The product is built for developers and technical teams who need motion media at catalog scale. E-commerce and apparel teams can turn approved product shots into looping hero media or generate angle variants without booking a turntable shoot. Marketing groups can produce endless looping backgrounds and lightweight motion creatives without a video crew. Because the camera never pans, zooms, tilts or reframes, the output reads as a living photograph rather than a generated clip, and subject identity, product geometry, text, logos and lighting are preserved in subtle mode. In practice you submit one request with exactly one image source (a multipart file, a base64 or data URL string, or a remote image_url), plus optional parameters for a short motion prompt, duration, resolution, motion style and audio. The endpoint returns 202 Accepted with a job ID; you poll the status endpoint from the Location header until the job completes, then pull the MP4 from result_url. Creative prompts that would break the loop or move the camera are ignored automatically. Positioning is narrow on purpose. Pixelcut is not a general text to video generator and does not offer scene changes, camera movement or long-form footage. It sits closer to product photography tooling, competing with manual turntable shoots and generic image animation services, and it appeals where loop continuity and fidelity to the source photo matter more than creative range.

How do you use Pixelcut?

  1. 1Request an API key
Get an API key from Pixelcut, then send it in the X-API-KEY header on every call.
  2. 2Submit a looping video job
POST to the video/loop endpoint with exactly one image source, either an image file, a base64 or data URL string, or a remote image_url.
  3. 3Choose motion, duration and resolution
Optionally set motion to spin for a 360 degree view, duration from 5 to 15 whole seconds, resolution at 480p or 768p, a short motion prompt, and include_audio.
  4. 4Poll the job status
The request returns 202 Accepted with a job ID. Keep polling the job endpoint from the Location header while status is pending or running.
  5. 5Download the MP4
When the job completes, the response includes a result_url pointing to the looping video on the CDN. Failed jobs return an error code and message.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Output is engineered to loop cleanly, with no visible jump, cut or drift at the seamAI
  • Subtle motion mode preserves product geometry, text, logos, composition and lightingAI
  • Spin mode generates a full turntable view from one photo and ends exactly on the starting frameAI
  • Simple job model: one request returns 202 with a job ID, then polling yields a CDN result_urlAI
  • Refundable failures are refunded automatically and credits are charged only when a job is acceptedAI

Cons

  • No camera movement at all, so pans, zooms and reframing requests are ignored rather than deliveredAI
  • Clips are short, capped between 5 and 15 seconds, which rules out anything beyond a loopAI
  • API only: there is no hosted interface on this page for non-technical usersAI
  • Back and side detail in spin mode is inferred, so accuracy depends on what the source photo showsAI
  • Pricing scales with duration and resolution, so long 768p clips add up quicklyAI
