What is Youka?

Youka is an audio editing tool that turns any song into a synced karaoke or lyric video in the browser. Youka creates karaoke and lyric videos from a song file, video link or bare lyrics.

Youka is a browser based studio that turns a finished song into a karaoke track or a lyric video. The core of the product is a pairing of two models: one separates the vocal stem from the instrumental, the other transcribes the words and aligns every single one to its moment in the recording. What comes out is a draft video where the text lights up word by word as it is sung, ready to be reviewed rather than rebuilt. In practice the workflow starts with whatever the user already has. An MP3, WAV, FLAC or AAC file works, and so does an MP4, MOV, AVI or MKV video, a public video URL pasted from YouTube, or nothing but a set of lyrics with no timing at all. Youka supports more than 50 languages, including right to left scripts, and will write the lyrics down itself when they are missing. A built in editor handles the inevitable corrections: nudge a word that lands early, fix a transcription slip, trim the song, or adjust key and tempo. The styling layer is where the two products split. Karaoke mode drops the vocals, colors each singer in a duet, adds a countdown before every line, and lets the instrumental be downloaded on its own. Lyric mode keeps the original vocal and pushes the words forward, with vertical and square formats for Reels and TikTok, translation lines for listeners abroad, a logo, and intro or outro clips. Both share six lyric layouts, 1,800+ fonts, gradient, image and video backgrounds, transparent exports for further editing, and 1080p or 4K MP4 output up to 60 fps. The closest alternatives are video editors where sync is done by hand and a capella sites that only strip vocals. Youka sits between them: less flexible than a full NLE, far faster than keyframing text in one. The audience is karaoke hosts and party organizers on one side, independent musicians, labels and video studios on the other. A separate macOS app called Youka Live changes vocal and instrument volume during playback and does not render files, and a developer CLI, SDK and API exist for programmatic work.
