What is AirCodum?

AirCodum is a coding tool. AirCodum pairs a VS Code extension with a mobile app so a phone can send files, issue text or voice commands and mirror the editor in VNC mode, with AI help for image-to-code and file Q&A.

AirCodum is a pair of apps, a VS Code extension and a mobile companion, that lets a smartphone act as a remote control for an editor running on a desktop. The phone can push files, photos and code snippets straight into VS Code, issue commands by text or voice, and mirror the editor screen in a VNC mode for hands-on control away from the desk. A newer section of the site, called Agentum, extends the idea to AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Copilot and Codex, with terminal streaming and VNC. The tool is aimed at developers who step away from their machines but still want a line into their work: checking a long test run or build, fixing a small bug during a meeting, or sending a screenshot of code to the editor without emailing it to themselves. The AI features add image-to-code transcription, so a photographed whiteboard sketch or handwritten note can become code, along with question-and-answer sessions against transferred files and code explanations. In practice, setup starts by installing the extension from the VS Code Marketplace and running the "AirCodum: Start Server" command from the command palette. The extension shows an IP address and port, which are typed into the mobile app before tapping Connect. After that, the camera, gallery or document picker can send material to the editor. Both devices should share a Wi-Fi network for best results. For use across different networks, the site documents a Tailscale route, with a warning to use it only on trusted networks. VNC mode adds a custom keyboard with VS Code command auto-complete, and the site lists a long set of supported editor commands covering cursor movement, selection, folding, refactoring and more. Among alternatives, AirCodum sits between generic remote-desktop apps and browser-based cloud editors. Its advantage is that the controls are shaped around VS Code (and Cursor) rather than a whole desktop, while the trade-off is a dependence on a running local server and a self-arranged network path.
