What is CensorMate?

CensorMate is an audio editing tool. CensorMate bleeps or silences chosen words in audio and video using Whisper running on-device in the browser. Files never upload. Users preview free, review the transcript, then pay to export, with day pass, subscription and lifetime options.

CensorMate is a browser-based censoring tool that locates chosen words in audio and video files and covers them with a bleep or clean silence. Transcription runs on the user's own device using OpenAI's Whisper model, which downloads to the browser once. After that, files are never sent to a server, and no account is needed to try it. That design targets creators who worry about demonetization, but also teams handling recordings that cannot legally or contractually be passed to a cloud service. The workflow has three stages. A user drops in a file (MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG, MP4, WebM, MOV, MKV and similar), the model transcribes it with word-level timestamps, and every match from the keyword list is highlighted in a full transcript. Each word can be toggled on or off with a click, and individual bleeps can be nudged on a waveform timeline. Export rebuilds only the audio track, copying the video stream untouched, so picture quality does not change. Matching captions (.srt or .vtt) and a plain text transcript can be downloaded alongside the censored file. Beyond profanity, any word or phrase can be targeted: brand names, spoilers, children's names, or addresses. Keyword lists can be uploaded as text files and saved as presets, and the tool also flags spoken patterns resembling phone numbers, emails and card-shaped numbers. It supports 21 languages, with accuracy strongest in English and other widely spoken languages. A lighter model runs in mobile browsers, which suits short clips for TikTok, Reels and Shorts, and a Chrome extension is also offered. The model is a free preview with paid export: the whole process can be tested on a personal file, and payment is only required to keep the result. Paid options include a day pass, monthly and yearly plans, and a lifetime license. Compared with manual timeline editing or cloud-based censor services, CensorMate trades server-side processing power for privacy and a quick review loop, which fits solo creators, podcasters, educators and compliance-minded teams.
