What is Muuic?

Muuic is an audio editing tool. A browser piano roll studio for sketching tracks with keyboard or MIDI input, built-in instruments and effects, prompt-driven AI composition, WAV/MP3/MIDI export and real-time collaboration.

muuic is a browser-based music production studio built around a piano roll. Notes are entered with the mouse, a computer keyboard or a connected MIDI controller, and projects are arranged on a timeline with a snap grid that toggles between 1/4, 1/8, 1/16 and 1/32 divisions. There is no installer and no desktop client: the studio loads in the browser, and a home screen shortcut is offered to make it behave more like an app. The project is labelled Alpha on its own credits screen, which sets expectations for polish and stability. The instrument list covers a broad range of synthesized and sampled sounds, from grand piano, electric piano, Rhodes and Wurlitzer through pads, leads, bass patches and a full drum kit, plus a custom sample slot that accepts microphone recordings or uploaded audio. A mixer, a track view and an effects rack with reverb, delay, chorus, distortion, filter, compressor and EQ sit alongside the arrangement. Exports go to WAV, MP3 and MIDI, and projects and instruments can be saved in the tool's own file formats for later import. A live spectrum and a history panel support mixing decisions. AI is woven in rather than bolted on. An AI Composer accepts plain prompts such as "lo-fi hip hop beat" or "add a bassline" and can target a selection, a section or the full track, with length options of 4, 8 or 16 bars. Users pick from models including Claude, GPT, Gemini and Grok tiers, and the AI panel can also generate custom effects. Each request costs credits, with three price levels for basic, mid and premium models. Collaboration is the other differentiator: a share link opens a real-time editing session, and projects can be made public with an embeddable mini player. Public projects sit in an Explore gallery. Practical users include songwriters sketching ideas, students learning arrangement, and producers who want a quick MIDI draft before moving to a full DAW. The tradeoff is depth: this is a focused piano roll, not a replacement for a complete mixing environment.

How do you use Muuic?

  1. 1Open the studio and start a project
Load the studio in your browser and create a new project, either blank or from a genre template such as Lo-fi Hip Hop or EDM Drop with a preset tempo.
  2. 2Add instruments and enter notes
Use Add Instrument to load a synth, sampled instrument, drum kit or your own recorded sample, then draw notes in the piano roll or play them from a MIDI controller.
  3. 3Try the AI Composer
Open the AI panel, type a prompt, set the target (selection, full track or a bar range) and choose a model, then preview and apply the result.
  4. 4Mix and add effects
Balance levels in the mixer and shape the sound with reverb, delay, chorus, distortion, filter, compressor and EQ, or generate a custom AI effect.
  5. 5Export or share
Export the track as WAV, MP3 or MIDI with your chosen sample rate and bitrate, or create a share link for real-time collaboration.
  6. 6Check the docs
Consult the documentation for shortcuts, file formats and feature detail before committing a project to the tool.
