Agentic AI that diagnoses backup failures and runs cyber recovery

Rubrik AI is an agentic assistant inside the Rubrik platform that detects anomalies, diagnoses backup failures and runs approved recovery workflows. It also answers other agents over MCP, A2A or CLI, for enterprise IT and security teams.
Rubrik AI is an agent built into the Rubrik platform for cyber resilience and data recovery. It watches data, identity and application environments for anomalies, reasons about what it finds, and carries out multi-step recovery work once a human approves the action. The vendor frames it as an agent that discovers, reasons, acts and collaborates, and it is aimed at backup administrators, infrastructure teams and security operations groups who protect large enterprise estates. In practice, work starts with a plain-language prompt. An administrator can ask for a seven-day compliance report across financial clusters with anything under 95 percent flagged, and the agent maps the data within the user's permissions and returns a visual summary. When a backup job fails, it correlates signals, names the likely cause (a disconnected vCenter, for example), proposes a fix such as refreshing the connection and restarting the job, and validates the next backup after approval. For ransomware events it can build a recovery plan around a defined Minimum Viable Company, such as executive leadership, then restore critical users first while a petabyte-scale restore continues in the background across Exchange, OneDrive, SharePoint and Teams. The agent also works with other agents. Through MCP, A2A or a command-line interface, a SOC agent can ask Rubrik Security Cloud for the last clean recovery point of a compromised host and its blast radius, and receive the answer without a person logging into a console. Rubrik states that the system was built with Anthropic, is powered by Claude, and is already used by about a third of its global customers. Within the market, Rubrik AI is less a standalone product than an intelligence layer on top of an existing Rubrik deployment, so it suits current Rubrik customers more than teams shopping for generic backup software. Its distinguishing points are the approval gate before execution and its access to Rubrik's own data and identity graph, which general-purpose assistants do not have. A guided demo and a solution brief are offered for evaluation.
